Wii Sometimes Have Fun
Mon, 2010-03-29 09:44 — steve.mcdonaldThis weekend included some relaxing fun. On Friday night a number of us went out for dinner and a movie. This included Bobby who we all used to work with but who now works for a company that makes video games. He was telling us about the "nerf" gun wars at work which got myself and a friend Matt motivated. So we headed to Target and picked up a few "Nerf" guns for our office. Our co-worker Daniel was greeted with a fun surprise on Monday morning.
After chatting for a while and catching up with Bobby we started to talk about those videos traveling around the web where someone attempts to eat a tablespoon of cinnemon in 30 seconds or less. This had us searching my kitchen for cinnemon, which I had (who knew?) Click here to watch Matt attempt the challenge. Very funny.
Next up, on Saturday Bobby and I continued our "chick-flick" saturday movies... but it wasn't a chick-flick this time. I know... I am totally revealing myself with this blog (and Bobby for that matter.) Since the Saturday morning movies are slightly cheaper (and far less attended I suppose) Bobby and I pick a movie we might not normally watch and go and see that... strength in numbers. Normally I don't prefer to see movies alone, but if I really want to see a movie and there is nobody who is interested, then I am willing to fork over the bucks and time and see it by myself. If the movie even remotely falls into the category of "chick-flick" then the odds go down that I will see it, even if I really want to. This is where Bobby comes in. Together, we can handle a chick-flick (we figure) where alone we might not have the guts to go see it. So, Saturday mornings sometimes become "chick-flick" Saturday and we watch the 10am showing of some silly commedy. It is maybe a little wierd to eat popcorn at 10am (something I haven't done sine I was 8 years old)This particular saturday, we watched the 3D movie "How to Train Your Dragon." It was pretty cute and the 3D was pretty neat. I don't know that I would recommend people rush out and watch it, but it was something to go do.
Later on Saturday Bobby and I drove down to Ikea in Woodbridge to get a new table for his apartment and then we dropped in on Daniel to hang out for a bit. His wife made this amazing meal for us (unbeLIEVable... I wish I was a better cook, and now I need to return the favor) and then we broke out the Wii and played a little tennis as you can see here.
After that it was a fairly crappy weekend. Bobby was searching for a new church so we drove down to the Vineyard in Woodbridge and it was a nice Palm Sunday meeting. After that we had lunch and I headed home for a nap. All in all it was fun and not too crazy, even though I prefer to take it a little slower on the weekends... well, at least that is what I tell myself on Fridays, but it doesn't often happen.
